Week 4 Course & competition

Join us tomorrow at Weds Night Worlds #4. Sweat and smiles will abound tomorrow as the sun shines down on us.

We’ve got a great course planned as usual. Below is the course map… Course as always is subject to change

😁

Leaders for Week 4

We’ve got some great competition going. See below for this week’s leaders.
Those new to the lead are HIGHLIGHTED in PINK. If you no longer hold the jersey, please return it to us, clean.

Team Competition 🔥

Team Booger is still picking on Seattle Metro Dragons. Will the Dragons catch the Boogers?

To ensure full points for your team, make sure everyone on your team is registered using your team name (in the dropdown).

Team Standings after week 2

For the first time at Weds Night Worlds, we’ve got a Team Competition! And we’ve got a doozy of a matchup.

Team Booger leads Seattle Metro Dragons by one single point after two weeks of competition.

Here is how the team points work… We look across every category and every team and count the top 5 scores for each team member for each team. In other words, the top five points scorers for each team are counted toward the team score for that week. We aggregate weeks to get to the season leaders.

Look to future weeks where you’ll find this automatically updated in Webscorer (thanks to our buddy Vesa at WS).

Make sure everyone on your team is registered using your team name (in the dropdown).

Booger Scholarship – taking applications until April 18

Team Booger, a junior team you know well if you race in the PNW, is launching the Making a Difference Scholarship, which recognizes student cyclists who are giving back to communities and organizations they care about. These $2000 scholarships are not only for incoming freshmen but also current college or trade school students. They are designed to help offset the rising cost of higher education and hopefully allow the student to continue their good work on and off the bike.

The Making A Difference Scholarship is taking applications from Tuesday, March 21 through April 18, 2023. Each scholarship awarded will be $2,000. Visit the Booger website to apply and learn more.

Defend North Seatac Park

Our beloved N Seatac Park is once again threatened by development. You can help!

There are two ways to help and both take just a few minutes. You can sign a petition and send a letter to the Port of Seattle Commissioners

Learn more about the effort to Defend N Seatac Park here: https://www.kctreeequity.org/
All for now people. Get off the couch and on your bike.

Alright, good talk,

Now he’s racing on the World Cup Mountain Biking circuit. Jack raced at Albstadt, Germany last weekend and is racing this coming weekend at Nové Město in the Czech Republic.

Good luck Jack!

Weds Night Countdown – 5 Days 😍

Hey, we are 5 days to race time!

Yeah… still feels a bit like winter–it’s not. It’s time to get this season rolling. If you haven’t yet, get that mountain bike out and lube up that chain.

If you came to our pre-reg party and registered for the race this week, thank you! You are good to go! If you didn’t make the pre-reg party, read on…

1) Haven’t purchased your Season Pass, 10 Race Pass or 5 Race Pass yet? (Yes, it’s finally time to finally buy that season pass you’ve been thinking about). You can still do that now.  You’ll save a few bucks and when it’s raining out and your motivation is waning, the Season Pass might just be the motivation you need… Buy a Pass in advance on Webscorer.

2) PRE-REGISTER for Wednesday’s race
You have to register for each race to add your name to the start list for that race, even if you pre-purchased a Season Pass or 5/10 Race Pass. We do not offer walk-up registration. Please use your personal device to register prior to arriving. It takes about 2 minutes online. Register HERE or use any of the Webscorer buttons in this email.

3) PRO Tip – Verify your Timing Number
…yeah, this is task is a little more advanced but if you got through 5th grade you can probably handle it. If you don’t have a timing tube or are completely confused, skip this step, get to the race early and head to the registration–we have nice people who can help you. If you have a timing tube you’ve used in the past you can use your old tube. It’s probably already in our system, but you need to make sure the 5 digit number on the tube matches what we have in our system. After you register for the race and find your tube, please open the April 20th START LIST and look for the number next to your name under “Chip ID”. The Timing Number is a 5 digit number inside the center of the tube. If the two numbers match, you are good to go! If not, bring your tube to registration and we’ll take care of it.

4) ALL racers need a new Bib Number. This is the number plate that affixes to your handlebars and that you tape to the wall in your bike-cave after the season is over. You have to pick these up in person. It will take a minute for us to enter this Bib number in the system.

5) Arrive early wearing your patience hat
We have hundreds of folks to get through PRE-REG on the first night. We’ll be there early with a smile and so you should too. Please arrive early and smile.

New Merch & High Mileage Jerseys!

We have all new merch this year with some fun surprises. Hats, t-shirts, hoodies, socks and this season we have water bottles (yo! can’t wait to get mine 🙂 But you’ll have to wait a few weeks for the water bottles–we think they might be stuck in the Suez Canal.

If you bought a Season Pass before March 1, you are the lucky recipient of our High Mileage Jersey–sweet new design this year. Come pick it up Wednesday.

New WNW Pints!

These will be made available on-site only. Buy a pint, get a free fill each time you show up. Have a few of these, already? Give your old one to your grandma–she’ll love it.

That’s all for now folks! Please help us help you get all this dialed in before opening night. The more we can do prior to opening night the easier it’ll all flow for us.

April 13 Pre-Reg Party

It’s time!
Time to get our butts in gear for the 2022 season of Wednesday Night Worlds!

Wednesday, April 13 we will host a pre-reg, pre-ride and trail work party from 5-9pm. Our goals here are to get as many people registered and chipped in to our computers as possible. Secondary to that is to ride bikes with friends and throw a little elbow grease into the trails. This is not a race. There is no registration other than your RSVP. There is no timing and no set course. This is a gathering of friends. And did we say, FREE PIZZA AND BEER.

Details:

Wednesday, April 13 from 5-9pm at North Seatac Park, same location you find registration every week. Bring your bike, your timing tube (if you have one) and a smile.

Pre-reg:

This is your chance to skip the lines on opening night April 20th. Gather up your timing tubes and come pick up your season bib number. Get your kids dialed in too. Once you have those things done and are registered for the first series race, you are good to go. Just go to the start line on the 20th. Encourage all your friends to do the same!

Pre-ride:

For anyone interested, we will offer a couple of pre-ride laps of the opening night’s course. This is a great opportunity for first time racers to see what the trails here are all about. If you’re interested in joining an organized scouting lap, come to the reg tent and sync up with one of our WNW volunteers. If you miss a group rolling out just be patient there will be another one.

Trail Work:

As always, the park could use a little TLC. If you would like to contribute to the condition of our trails, please bring a garden or metal rake for cleaning trail surfaces. Power tools are great (think leave blower) but depending on weather, a hand rake may be more effective. The primary goal here is to get large debris like pinecones, dead leaves and loose rocks off the trails. We will have complementary pizza slices for anyone who attends as well as a well-stocked cooler of Dru Bru.

Please RSVP for this so we can plan accordingly on our Facebook event or via email at wednight@offcamber.bike. Bring your mom–we’ll get her on a bike.

3 Weeks Until WNWC Season Opener

In this post:

  • Pre-Registration instructions
  • New merch
  • High Mileage Jerseys

We are 3 weeks to race time!

Let’s get you prepared and ready to rock on April 20th.

1) PRE-REGISTER
We do not offer walk-up registration. Please use your personal device to register prior to arriving. This should take about 90sec online. Register at Webscorer.

2) Race Passes are NOT Registrations
Remember folks, a Race Pass is not a registration. It is a payment method at checkout when you register. To all of you who purchased a season pass, 5 or 10 rack pack, please register asap, follow the prompts and select “Race Pass” at checkout. You must be signed into your Webscorer account.

3) Verify your Timing Number
With or without a Race Pass, once you are registered, please verify your Timing Chip number. If you are totally new to racing, you’ll need to pick one of these up at registration–they cost $10 and are yours to keep. If you have raced in Washington, you probably have one–they are the plastic “Timing Tubes” and they work at most MTB and cross races. You probably have 1-4 of these in your gear bag or still on your helmet. Instead of buying another, take a minute to find the one in the bottom of your bike bag. Once you find your tube, please open the April 20th START LIST to verify that’s the number next to your name under “Chip ID”. It’s a 5 digit number inside the center of the tube.

Next:

  • If the number in the start list matches the 5 digits on your Timing Tube, you’re good to go. Affix it to you helmet and show up for your bib number. You are PRO!
  • If there is no Chip ID number next to your name in the start list or if the number on your tube doesn’t match the number in the system, email us the number at wednight@offcamber.bike and we will key it in for you. This saves TONS of time on opening night if we can get that number loaded prior.

That’s a lot to remember! But it’s all SUPER important for ease and flow on opening night.

4) ALL racers need a new Bib Number. This is the number plate that affixes to your handle bars and get refreshed each year. You have to pick these up in person.

5) Arrive early wearing your patience hat
The worst thing someone can do on April 20th is arrive with nothing prepared 10min before their race start. Not cool! Everyone working under the tent is there to help you and about 200 of your closest friends. We need to get Bib Numbers and verify timing chips for every racer. It’ll take a minute. Please be patient. Please do what you can from the above procedures prior to arriving. Love you 😉

New WNW Pints!

These will be made available on-site only. Buy a pint, get a free fill each time you show up. Do your old pints still work for a fill? Yes they do. But these are so hot right now… we think you should refresh your stock. Give your old one to your grandma–she’ll love it.

High Mileage Jerseys are coming

For those of you who qualify, your tight new Voler Apparel High Mileage jersey’s will be in a box under the reg tent with your name on it. Just ask someone official. Want to see the new design? Sorry, we’re keeping that under wraps….

That’s all for now folks! Please help us help you get all this dialed in before opening night. The more we can do prior to opening night the easier it’ll all flow for us.

Countdown to WNWC – 25 Days

Hey there,

We know you still might be trying to squeeze in your last, few ski days. Give it up… ski season is waning and now it’s time to get ready for Wednesdays! Time to put the skis in the closet, get out your XC bike and start pushing the pedals.

Season Opener – April 20

You ready for our season opener on April 20? Bike ready? Bod ready?

We’re ready to roll and can’t wait to see you. We’ve got some great merchandise this season, t-shirts, hoodies, hats, socks, and mugs. You’ll love one of our new t-shirt designs. Ruh roh!

If you still haven’t purchased a season pass, 10 race pass, or 5 race pass, you can still pick one up at Webscorer

Can’t wait to see you at our season kickoff on April 20. Does your mom ride a bike? Bring her too… we’ll get her racing.

We’ll see you and your mom in 25 days.
